We stayed for three nights and appreciated a few things about the home. The memory foam mattresses were comfortable, and the dining table seating for six was appreciated. However, several issues impacted our stay. The heating system was difficult to adjust. Many interior door latches didn’t work properly, so doors wouldn’t stay closed unless shut forcefully; my husband had to fix one himself. The dining room light was extremely dim, and since the host didn’t respond to our message, we bought and installed a brighter bulb. Host never replied to our messages. A loose floorboard upstairs posed a tripping hazard. Two headboards had yellow stains. The upstairs blinds left a gap that let a flashing stop sign shine in all night. The downstairs bedroom had no dresser or storage. The home is listed as “entire home,” but the backyard is occupied by an RV tenant. We weren’t informed and were startled by an aggressive knock about parking.
The place is a little outdated and has stains/old damage throughout. Ex. being the upstairs bathroom door doesn't like to close. Also very dusty. There are a few fans to plug in around the house that are full of dust, and visible dust can be seen in the windows and such. Only room for a single car in the driveway for a house that sleeps six isn't very fun, & we made do having the other car park around the corner on the street that DID allow parking. The day we checked out we realized one of us accidentally left their air pods under a pillow in one of the rooms. I immediately reached out since they had a policy they could mail it out for a fee, so I immediately gave the info & they said they'd check with their cleaning team. After that they just left me on read when i asked for updates & almost a week later still haven't said anything. I had to reach out to support & they contacted the host. the host told them the same thing, and they STILL haven't responded to me. Terrible service.
Kimberly is great at communicating and makes getting in an out of this location a breeze. The home is central in Portland with walkable access to food and shopping. It sleeps six more than comfortably. Great value for a central Portland base camp for an adventure.
Overall a nice space with very comfortable beds, but there was some damage to the walls and the dining room light did not work upon arrival. Fortunately Kimberly communicated very well so we were able to address a solution
The location is terrific. That was the most important thing for us and it did not disappoint. Everything else worked basically as it should and communication was great.
Kimberly was very responsive. We had a great stay.
really comfortable home, good location, very attentive manager. the four way stop on the corner can get rather busy and sometimes loud, but we used the fans in the bedrooms for white noise and it was never a problem for sleeping.
A great space for 6 people! Easy check-in and check-out and a friendly host!
We had a nice stay and it was walkable to several cafes and shops including the amazing Tabor Bakery. The host was very responsive and the home had air conditioning that worked well during the heat wave.
When the listing we had booked months in advance had to cancel on us at the last minute, we were worried that we wouldn’t be able to find a place for our family of 4, including 2 young kids. Thankfully, Kimberly’s house happened to be available. Not only was Kimberly a welcoming and super responsive host, but the house itself was in such a great spot that it made our whole Portland stay a blast! Great food carts and restaurants (including Slappy Cakes—amazing for kids!) are either walkable or within a very short drive. All the family-friendly activities we wanted to do (Oregon Zoo, OMSI, Salt & Straw, tons of awesome parks, etc.) were a max of 20 minutes from our door. It’s an older house like all the others in the neighborhood, so expect some quirks, like the AC not reaching the upper bedrooms as well. But there are tons of fans to keep cool. And we really appreciated that there were both firmer and plusher beds to choose from—such a nice change of pace from most stays!
